A. To convert a single image

To export an image from one format to other, Preview is in-build Apple’s support/utility system. You can use this for viewing PDF files and images.

1. Open image using “Preview”

2. Reach File Menu and Choose “Export Selected Images.”

3. Click on the drop-down menu and opt the desired Format

You can also do this batch conversion using a built-in utility named “Automator”. It doesn’t involve coding and is easy to use. It functions faster than the preview.

  1. Open application > Automator
  2. A dialog box will appear to click on “New Document” in it.
  3. Choose “Application” type for your document.
  4. There appear two sections Actions and Variable on left and Workflow on right, you need to drag them to workflow,
  5. Let Automator create a “folder” to set up the converted file. Use “actions” in the workflow
  6. Click on Files & Folders in Library placed on the left side. After this, the screen will appear with a “New Folder” section drag it to workflow.
  7. Type Name and Where i.e. location for it.
  8. Click and drag “Get Folder Contents”.
  9. Select “Photos” and drag “Change Type Of Image”
  10. Click on “Copy Finder Items” and select “Don’t Add”
  11. “Change Type of Images” into the required format.

D. Conversion using third-party applications
